Jenny Morris will be inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame at this year's Silver Scroll Awards.

Morris' hits include You I Know, Break In The Weather, She Has to Be Loved, and the Crocodiles hit Tears.

Morris has toured with INXS as a backing vocalist, before forging a successful career as a solo artist, releasing six albums between 1987 and 2006.

Several years ago, Morris was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia - a disorder which causes involuntary spasming of muscles around the larynx, meaning she can no longer perform.

Previous Hall of Fame inductees include The Exponents, Bic Runga, Shihad, Dragon and Sharon O'Neill.

The APRA Silver Scroll Awards will be held at Spark Arena in Auckland on Thursday, October 4.
